![]() ![]() Its about 90% of the time it happens, seems if you are only touching it a little bit while turning on the screen, it might not break multi touch. More specifically, if I rest a part of my hand on the screen while turning the screen on, multi touch will not work until I turn the screen back off and on again. I can make the problem come and go just by turning the screen on and off with a single press of the power button. I did some testing on my own, and its actually not just while restarting. He instructed me NOT to touch the screen while the phone is restarting. The manager at IBREAKUFIX said this is a common issue with the entire Pixel 4 line, apparently it's how google re-calibrates the display after reboot. I even took a bunch of videos of it happening. Then after some time, started working, and again after some time stopped working. I went through google support as well, they had me wipe the phone of course, multi touch wasn't working still. Ive also noticed in the past few months occasionally I couldn't pinch and zoom in google maps. To be honest, I've had issues typing for a long time now, and only recently I realized its because multi touch wasn't working since I installed an app to check it. Then I started noticing this issue with multi touch. I had it replaced at google's repair partner - UBREAKIFIX. ![]() My screen just got decimated by a bluetooth speaker falling off the shelf. *UPDATE* UBREAKIFIX agreed to replace the screen again, and that fixed the problem, so I guess it was just a faulty screen. The best I can do is install "touchscreen repair" app and lower the screen reaction time to simulate multi-touch by changing my fingers very quickly. Is there any related system or patch update? I've updated to the latest one(May) and it doesn't help at all which is quite disappointing.Īs I mentioned above, I tried several methods and none of them work constantly. ![]() Therefore, I believe it is a general problem caused by Google software update or settings, and it is happening both on pixel 4a and pixel 5. I found several threads and comments reporting the exact same screen issue. But it might not be the case since the malfunction still occurs when my screen is clean and cool. I once suspected that the malfunction occur due to screen over heat or dirty screen. However the issue is somehow gone for a period of time without doing anything particular. ![]() Sometime the issue is solved by restarting my phone or wiping my screen and sometimes these method doesn't help at all. I can't figure out why it's malfunction and why it's normal. The situation is quite weird for my multitouch sometimes works as new. The issue is extremely disturbing especially during gaming. I somehow lost my multitouch (only one finger's touch control is allowed) during a MOBA game gameplay two months ago. I bought my brand new pixel 4a direct from Google last September.
